Prof. Barletta was born in Siena (Tuscany, Italy) on August 12th 1963. He obtained his Degree (Laurea) in Physics, cum laude, at the School of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences at the University of Bologna on March 20th 1987. From January 1988 to April 1989, he worked at Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (I.N.F.N) in Bologna as a scholarship holder for researches on theoretical, nuclear and subnuclear physics.Â
From 1998 to 2000, Antonio Barletta has been a professor of the PhD in Technical Physics at the University of Bologna. From 2000 he is a professor, and from 2008 to date he is Chair, of the PhD in Energy Nuclear and Environmental Engineering at the University of Bologna.
The most important research topics have been: general and applied thermodynamics, thermodynamics of dielectric fluids in electric and magnetic fields, heat conduction with internal heat generation, hyperbolic heat conduction, internal forced and mixed convection in ducts, flow and heat transfer in porous media, stability of buoyant flows.Â
